As a key member of the Dolby Marketing Studio, the Sr. Graphic Designer will design and develop breakthrough creative work on behalf of the Dolby brand and businesses. Work will include, but not be limited to, marketing materials, product literature, branding / logos, advertisements, digital content, presentations, tradeshow/event collateral, and experience design for industry events and film festivals. The successful candidate will be a strong design generalist with a portfolio that demonstrates original, fresh thinking, audience-relevant and aesthetically appropriate content.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Associate Creative Director, Executive Creative Director, and Integrated Marketing leadership team to understand business needs and marketing requirements, and devise compelling design solutions. Translate internal customer objectives into effective designs that build the equity of the iconic Dolby brand. Clearly communicate marketing messages visually to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Advise marketing personnel on design considerations, and liaise with outside agencies and freelance designers as the point person for particular initiatives/campaigns.
- Partner closely with Marketing Writer, UI / UX Designer, A/V Production team and other Marketing Studio team members on the design and creation of multi-faceted program materials.
- Enhance the Dolby brand with a compelling, ownable design language and successful implementation of Dolby’s new design guidelines.
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and outside agencies, consultants, and vendors. Proactively manage project schedule to avoid last-minute projects and rush charges; keep Program Manager(s) apprised of status.
- Proactively seek out ways to improve consistency and effectiveness of visual communications for the company. Identify relevant media, technologies, and production processes that offer significant improvements in cost-effectiveness, production time, or communications impact. Stay informed about company products, current graphic design trends and tools, and industry developments that may lead to future visual communications opportunities.
- Proactively seek opportunities to design content that can be leveraged globally and across multiple campaigns.

Qualifications:
- An excellent portfolio
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the creative industry
- A solid academic background in and a mastery of one or more of the following disciplines:
- Art direction & design: Graphic design, advertising, art direction
- Creative development: Digital design; front-end development in Flash, HTML, CSS, or other front-end development technologies
- Exceptional communication skills: Verbal, written, interpersonal and inter-departmental
- Superb professionalism and mature presence in all aspects of team and client relationship-building
- Thought leadership: A strong point of view; ability to contribute to the strategic development of an assignment; creative ideas and the ability to promote conceptual thinking among the team
- A strong ability and experience in leading, directing and managing a group of cross-disciplinary teams
- Strong deck writing and dynamic presentation skills
- A solid understanding of digital media as well as the marketing industry at large; an ability and a desire to adapt to the changing landscape of technology
- Ability to direct outside vendors (photographers, production companies, etc.)
